Body Bugs
In many parts of the world various sorts of insect, bug and various sorts of parasitic worm (and other) infestations happen to human beings. We are seeing more and new types of diseases, and antibiotic resistant diseases in part due to incomplete antibiotic treatment regimens, animal feed containing massive doses of antibiotics (as in the case of cattle being forced to eat corn which causes human pathogens to appear in cattle feces and milk), and gene manipulation of plants and microbes for all sorts of commercial, medical and military related reasons.
Programming genes that are not fully understood is as risky as sloppy computer programming by someone who doesn’t fully understand how code modules will interact with one another. Targeted goals are not always met, and 100% functionality of the finished code (whether binary or genetic) is rarely, if ever, achieved. Therefore the perfect target circle of the goal and the actual circle are of the effect of the programming often leaves the program not able to perform exactly as desired, and leaves part of the circle outside of the target in an unknown and potentially exploitable area of weakness where the dangers lie.
In computer code this is unfortunate – in genetics it is potentially deadly. Our eyes are being opened to new insect infestations in humans where once they did not exist.
According to the University of Puget Sound http://www2.ups.edu/faculty/amadlung/Plant_Phys_Bio332/Bio332_04_GMOdigestion.pdf a study to determine if “the survival of the transgene epsps from GM soya in the small intestine of human ileostomists (i.e., individuals in which the terminal ileum is resected and digesta are diverted from the body via a stoma to a colostomy bag). The amount of transgene that survived passage through the small bowel varied among individuals, with a maximum of 3.7% recovered at the stoma of one individual.” While the study concluded that transgene transfer to E-Choli (called “microflora”) did not occur from eating the soya, it claimed that “Three of seven ileostomists showed evidence of low-frequency gene transfer from GM soya to the microflora of the small bowel”, and claims that the three had this crossgene transfer (from the GM soya to the E-Choli) before the testing began. To me this study clearly says “It can’t happen by eating it, and by the way, three of the ten subjects we tested had it happen but we aren’t going to focus on how since this study is just to prove that eating it won’t do it, and our test concludes that there is no crossgene transfer to the E-Choli from the GM soya.”
Investigations, while slow, do continue. They are often hampered by medical practitioners in doubt what they see with their own eyes (and evidence collected in their own experiments) and by those who claim that people who come forward with bug infestations (or in the case above “Assessing the survival of transgenic plant DNA in the human gastrointestinal tract” involving transgenic contamination, where the scientists say it didn’t happen even though clearly it did) are conspiring with one another in ever increasing numbers for some unknown reason. These conspiracy theorists who claim that everyone with symptoms of body bugs is delusional are standing in the way of the needed research grants required to do scientific investigations into the possible causes and eventual cures of this growing problem. “Do No Harm” also means not living in denial and not purposely impeding important research.
With enough Federal funding progress can and will be made. Click here to see just a few examples of Federal spending of $1.5 million to a liquor store in Los Angeles, $1.4 million to a car wash in Anaheim, Calif., $1.1 million to a pizza shop, $1.5 million to a wine institute, and $227,000 to a strawberry commission. There’s obvious stonewalling, underfunding and total lack of funding for researching the causes and cures for biological and chemical toxins plaguing our nation. Why this is remains the big question everyone is asking.

Whoa, nice article; it clearly shows the trend of modern research where the source of funding dictates what to focus on, and what to ignore.
